Mariachi experiments in between improvised and noise music. The set up is ultra minimal: 1 guitar, 1 pedal, 1 amp. Everything is focused on the gesture and the sound research on the instrument : its resonances, limits, expansions, impurities, all the audible parts of the guitar : to go with or against it, to contain or to let it go, to support or to hurt it. You’ll probably find: feedbacks, cracklings, short circuits, impacts, harmonics, grindings noises, overflowings, notes and almost perfect chord. Nina Garcia

She also plays in the band mamiedaragon, in duet with trombonist Maria Bertel or with drummer Augustin Bette and in trio with Qonicho B! Nina Garcia has been selected for the SHAPE PLATFORM 2019. “Guitar, pedal, amp… this utterance might sound classical nowadays. However Nina Garcia solo project makes it unheard of. Her group mamiedaragon describes itself as ‘no wave no noise no tapes’. Perhaps this is a sign of a post post-punk hyper removal strategy? Not yet.
